HOW YOU CAN HELP
DONATIONS ~ STANDING
ORDERS AND DIRECT DEBITS ~ GIFT AID
WILLS ~ SPONSORSHIP
~ FUNDRAISING ACTIVITES
Whoever and wherever you are, it is
possible for you to help the ancient and historic town of Hedon to restore
and maintain its magnificent church. Whether you are an individual person,
a small business or a big industrial company and whether you are able
to offer money or simply your own time and effort, your contribution
will be both welcome and worthwhile. Without the help of many thousands
of people our target of £4 million will be quite unobtainable.
If we do not achieve our target of £4
million we will use whatever we do raise to restore the fabric of the
church and provide much-needed internal facilities as far as we can.
If we are fortunate enough to reach our target, any excess will be used
for any further fabric repairs and to support the work of the church
in Hedon.
DONATIONS :
Gifts of money, however small, may be given as one-off contributions
to the members of the Restoration and Development Committee listed below,
cheques being made payable to "St Augustine's Church Restoration

Donations to the Appeal Fund Direct.
Arrangements have been made with Lloyds TSB Bank, St Augustines Gate,
Hedon, to accept any donations over the counter. These can be paid direct
into the Appeal Fund. If you wish to use this facility, please enquire
of the counter staff who have been briefed in the procedure and will
give you every assistance. Please note that the Gift Aid Scheme, whereby
28% can be added to the value of your donation to the advantage of the
Appeal Fund can apply if you are a taxpayer, in which case, make this
known to the staff who will ask you to complete a simple declaration.
If you would like to offer financial help straight
away, please click on the button below.
Gifts in kind can be donated, articles of value being offered to
be sold or auctioned, with the proceeds going to the Appeal Fund.

STANDING ORDERS AND DIRECT DEBITS :
If you would like to make regular donations without having to send cheques
or cash, you can set up a Standing Order or Direct Debit with your bank.
This will allow a regular donation, however small, to be sent directly
to the Restoration and Development Fund with little effort. For bank
account details, please use the "Donate Now" button above
and check "Regular Donation" where indicated.

GIFT AID :
When making a donation you can sign up to the Gift Aid scheme which
adds 28% to your giving. The tax you have paid on your gift is refunded
to the church but costs you nothing. The only requirement is that you
are a UK taxpayer and that you pay at least as much tax as you give
to the appeal. If you can help in this way, please use the "Donate
Now" button and check the "Gift Aid " box. You will be
sent a Gift Aid Declaration to complete and sign and return with your
gift. You only have to complete one form no matter how many times you
make a donation. If you wish to give regularly by Standing Order or
Direct Debit you can also complete a Gift Aid Declaration.

WILLS :
Please consider leaving a gift to the church in your will. Legacies
from generous benefactors can provide much needed funds and help to
ensure that "The King of Holderness" can continue to be at
the heart of Christian mission in Hedon.

SPONSORSHIP:
An excellent form of help which individuals, or more especially
companies, may wish to consider is the sponsorship of one or more of
the organised efforts being undertaken during the period of the Restoration
and Development Appeal.

ORGANISING OR HELPING WITH FUND-RAISING ACTIVITIES:
This is how it is hoped that the hard work of the local people
can be harnessed over the next few years to raise money through a wide
range of events and activities. If you are able to organise an event,
no matter how small or large, please contact the Appeal Secretary, Mrs
Dorothy Winter, at The Ridings, Clough Garth, Hedon, East Yorkshire,
telephone 01482 899925, or email her at
.
Mrs Katherine Danby has arrived at an imaginative idea
for fund raising. If you have a special anniversary that you wish to
celebrate, e.g. a marriage, baptism, birthday of you are a loved one,
for a contribution of £10 per year you can nominate a date on
which your gift will support the illumination of the church. A S/O mandate
form will be provided if you contact Katherine at 896343.
