A MESSAGE FROM THE LORD LIEUTENANT OF THE EAST RIDING,
MR RICHARD MARRIOTT TD

I am delighted to have been asked to become a Patron of the Appeal Fund for the Restoration and redevelopment of St Augustine's Church in the historic town of Hedon.

As you browse through this website, you will see how the Church and Town have grown during the past 800 years and how the townsfolk of Hedon have always worked together to help preserve this ancient building which is one of the ecclesiastical gems of East Yorkshire.

However, it has been discovered that £4 million is required to restore St Augustine's to its former glory. The raising of this huge sum of money is far beyond the means of the people of Hedon and so I hope the Trade and Industry as well as individuals will give generously to help achieve this target. We could then ensure that the "King of Holderness" will be able to continue its work of ministry and outreach well into the future.
